Electric requirements

Electric service

Load calcs that comply with the NEC may be used to size electric service. The alternate method below may be used instead of load calcs.

Minimum service 150 AMP with gas furnace, water heater, and stove. #1 AWG copper or #2/0 AWG aluminum wire for service.
Minimum service 200 AMP with any electric furnace, water heater, or stove. #2/0 AWG copper or #4/0 AWG aluminum wire for service.
Grounding and bonding of service to comply with NEC including rebar in footer if 20 feet or over in overall connected length.
