Pickaway County Probate Judge Shelly R. Harsha and Craig Sanders, Director of the Pickaway County Park District, announce that due to the resignation of a Board member, there is an immediate vacancy in membership to the Park District Board of Commissioners. This appointment will fill one of the 5 Board positions. Per Ohio Revised Code 1545.05, this appointment is to be made by the Probate Judge.

Park Board Commissioners meet the 4th Tuesday of each month to provide oversight and input on County Park District operations and budgets and assist Park District staff in planning and improving outdoor recreation opportunities in Pickaway County.

Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest and accompanying resume to Judge Harsha at Pickaway County Probate Court, 207 S. Court St., Rm. #3, Circleville, Ohio 43113 by September 11, 2026. Anyone interested in further information about the Park District or the Park Board of Commissioners should contact Craig Sanders at csanders@pickawaycountyohio.gov.

Legal Notice to Taxpayers

All Pickaway County property owners please be advised that the County has completed its work of equalization and property value setting for tax year 2026 Triennial Update, to be used for tax purposes in calendar year 2027. The tentative valuations are open for public inspection in the County Auditor’s office Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and said values are published on the County Auditor’s website (https://auditor.pickawaycountyohio.gov/)

The Auditors Office will conduct in person informal reviews on August 11th-13th from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Please call the Auditors’ Office (740-474-4765) to schedule your appointment.

Complaints against any valuation or assessment, except the valuations fixed and assessments made by the department of taxation, will be accepted by the County Auditor, and presented to the County Board of Revision. All official complaints must be filed between January 1, 2027 - March 31, 2027.

The Churches of Christ in Christian Union, Plaintiff, vs William Litten, et al., Defendants

The Churches of Christ in Christian Union brought this action naming, among others, William Litten and All Persons Unknown, Claiming Any Legal or Equitable Right, Title, Lien or Interest in the Property Described In The Complaint Adverse to Plaintiffs Title, or any Cloud Upon Plaintiff’s Title Thereto, and John Does 1 through 10, Inclusive as defendants in the above-named Court by filing its Complaint for Quiet Title.

The object of the Complaint is to obtain a judgment against William Litten and All Persons Unknown, Claiming Any Legal or Equitable Right, Title, Lien or Interest in the Property Described In The Complaint Adverse to Plaintiffs Title, or any Cloud Upon Plaintiff’s Title Thereto, and John Does 1 through 10, Inclusive declaring that Plaintiff is the owner of the real property comprised of approximately 300 square feet located on Half Avenue, Circleville, Ohio 43113, Parcel Number A0540930001700 (the complete legal description of the subject real property may be obtained from the Pickaway County Auditor), upon which said Defendants may claim an interest.

The Complaint For Quiet Title seeks that the Defendants be required to set forth the right, nature and virtue of their claim to the subject real property; that all adverse claims of the Defendants be determined by decree; that it be declared and adjudged that Plaintiff is the owner of the subject real property and entitled to possession; that it be declared and adjudged that the Defendants have no estate, right, title or interest whatsoever in or to the subject real property or any part of it; that the Defendants be permanently enjoined and restrained from asserting any estate, right, title or interest whatsoever, in or to the subject real property or any part of it, adverse to Plaintiff.

William Litten and All Persons Unknown, Claiming Any Legal or Equitable Right, Title, Lien or Interest in the Property Described In The Complaint Adverse to Plaintiffs Title, or any Cloud Upon Plaintiffs Title Thereto, and John Does 1 through 10, Inclusive are required to answer the Complaint for Quiet Title within twenty-eight (28) days after the last publication of this notice, which will be publish once a week for six (6) consecutive weeks pursuant to Ohio Civil Rule 4.4.

In case of your failure to answer or otherwise respond as permitted by Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure, within the time stated, judgement will be rendered against you for the relief demanded, which extinguishment of all of your right, title and interest in and to the subject real property.
