What this site collects

This website does not use analytics software, advertising trackers, or social media tracking pixels. We do not set cookies to identify or follow you, and we do not build a profile of your visit.

Like any web server, the county's hosting provider records routine technical information when a page is requested, such as the page address, the date and time, and the type of browser making the request. This information is used to keep the site running and secure.

Forms on this site

The permit and application forms on this site are filled in and printed in your own browser. Nothing you type into them is transmitted to the county, stored on our server, or seen by us until you deliver the printed form to the office yourself. If you close the page, what you typed is gone.

Email and public records

If you email a county office, your message becomes a county record. Under Ohio public records law, county records are generally available to any person on request, and email is not exempt. Do not send information by email that you would not want released — including Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or medical details.

If you need to give a county office sensitive information, call the office and ask how to provide it.

Services operated by others

Some things on this site are provided by outside organizations, and their own privacy practices apply rather than ours:

  • Nixle supplies the emergency alert sign-up and message feed embedded on the Emergency Management page. Signing up creates an account with Nixle, not with the county.
  • ArcGIS and the county GIS viewers are hosted by Esri. Using the interactive maps means loading their service.
  • Payment and licensing providers, including the treasurer's tax payment site, the sewer and water billing system, and the online dog licence service, are separate businesses that collect payment details directly.
  • Other websites we link to, including state and federal agencies and community organizations, have their own policies.

We do not receive information about you from these services, and we do not sell or share information with them.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
